Accessibility
General Accessibility
We aim for Pandemonium events to be as broadly accessible as possible. If you would like to ask us to make an adjustment or accommodation in order to make the game more accessible to you, please let us know and we will explore what we can do for you.
The Site
Consall Scout Camp, the default site for Pandemonium, possesses some difficulty with regards accessibility. The site is very hilly, with significant uphill and downhill travel to be expected when travelling anywhere outside of (or sometimes within) your own camp. Particular care should be taken when moving around after dark, due to the existence of some sharp drops. Whilst the ref team believes that players should not come to harm if everybody takes due care when travelling around the site, players are encouraged to consider these accessibility issues before making a booking. If more information is needed, please contact the ref team directly.
Themes and Triggers
If there are themes and images that you would strongly prefer not to encounter during roleplay, such as ones that may produce a trigger response, please let us know when you book so we can minimise your exposure to them, or remove them altogether from play. Generally speaking, the following themes will, and will not, be present in game.
Present: Hearing voices (Ollath and Tanelim specifically), dissociative phenomenae (Ollath specifically), post-traumatic stress disorder (Tanelim specifically), chronic/terminal illness (Decaying Ones specifically), physical violence, long-term injury, death, monsters that resemble phobias.
Not Present: Non-consenting sexual activity, child mortality, other mental health topics.
Non-Combatants
Some players may not be safely able to engage in LARP combat. These players will be identified to the refs and playerbase in advance, to minimise the chance of them being struck with weapons, even by accident. If you become unsafe to fight partway through the game, or believe another player has forgotten that you are non-combatant, you can indicate that you may not be physically struck by calling “Not Fight Safe!” Players disregarding this may be excluded from games. Players may instead stand within melee striking distance of a non-combatant character, and say "I am disabling your character." This renders them unable to move from the area or use skills. They may follow this with "I am executing your character", if they wish, which kills the non-combatant character.
As a note, all IC spaces are potential combat zones, although player camps are relatively unlikely to see fights. There do not exist IC areas that are completely safe from combat.
Bunking
Consall Scout Camp has bunk facilities. All bunks are in shared rooms, of between 4 and 18 beds. Depending on player numbers, bunks are not guaranteed, and players may be asked to camp. Camping may be IC or OC by player choice. Bedrooms and OC tents are always OC spaces.
If you believe you require a bunk for accessibility reasons, indicate as such in your booking form. There is also an accessible double room with en suite accessible toilet and shower, which will be held empty until/unless it is booked by a player/players who require its facilities.
Food
Catering information is not yet available. However, meals will be at scheduled times, advertised in advance of the event. Dietary requirements made available to us in advance will be catered for.
OC Quiet Space
We endeavour at all events to have a small OC quiet space in each camp, in addition to OC bunk rooms. Details on quiet spaces at Consall will follow.
